Dear CCAM Partners and Friends,
Gioia just called me from Jacksonville, Florida, asking me to send you this report and ask for your prayers. She does not have access to email at the present time.
Buntheep is being prepped for surgery at Wolfson Children’s Hospital, a part of Baptist Medical Center. The medical procedure is called a "transphenoidal resection" of a skull-based tumor. The surgery is expected to last 7 to 8 hours. The tumor is large, and more surgery may be required. Three doctors are involved in this surgery - a neurosurgeon, Dr. Aldana; an eye-ear-nose-throat doctor, Dr. Roy; and an eye specialist, Dr. Duss. They are unsure what they will find or what the prognosis is; but we serve a great God who can do miracles!
Gioia asked that we pray for wisdom for the doctors during this difficult and dangerous procedure. She asked that we pray for Buntheep to deeply experience Jesus' presence and care as she awakens with the expected pain after surgery in surroundings that are foreign to her. Gioia also needs some rest after a long and tiring trip, so let's pray for her to have a good place to lie down and recover some energy and strength.
Thank you for your prayers and help. May these signs of your love glorify our Father in heaven!
