SIGHT RESTORED
November 17, 2007

Dear CCAM Partners and Friends,

Gioia's sister Sue Woodward called me a few minutes ago with an update on Buntheep's condition. Today, when they woke Buntheep up to remove the breathing tube, her first words were, “Mommy, I can see you!” There have been no complications or bleeding due to removing the breathing tube, although she has the expected pain in her nose area from the surgery. Later today, they intend to put Buntheep in a wheelchair to ride around a bit, and move her out of ICU into a room.

The expert on the embolization procedure is due back in town on Tuesday, so we can pray that human medical progress can move forward when he (or she) returns. Buntheep was disappointed when she learned that she'd need more surgery, but now understands the situation and has accepted it gracefully.

Gioia mentioned that the place where she got access to the internet is apparently closed for the weekend; so she doesn't have email access just now - perhaps not until Monday. Let's continue holding Buntheep, Gioia, and the doctors in prayer that God might glorify His Name through all of this!
