Dear CCAM Partners and Friends,
Buntheep's radiation therapy is now in its second week. The symptoms of headaches, nausea/vomiting, dizziness, and fatigue still plague her most of the time, although the medications prescribed give her some relief. Instead of waiting four weeks as planned, the radiation oncologist has agreed to do an MRI this coming Thursday (April 10) to check what is going on inside her head. Pray that the scans will reveal some encouraging news!
Buntheep's one good eye continues to "wax and wane" each day. However, the ophthalmologist is checking both of Buntheep's eyes once or twice a week to monitor whether or not there is any damage from the radiation. So far, according to the tests last week and this week, there does not seem to be any permanent damage. Praise the Lord!
As soon as the 5-week radiation therapy is completed, we may need to start chemotherapy right away using the hormone Calcitonin. If anyone knows where that drug might be available, and especially if it could be donated free of charge, please let me know as soon as possible. Please pray that the Lord will provide it as needed.
Next Tuesday, April 15, Buntheep will turn 13 years old!
Thanks to all of you for your continued prayers. We are so grateful for God's merciful protection thus far, and we continue to hope for His complete healing in the end.
In His Hands,
Gioia and Buntheep
