NOREN'S HEALTH UPDATE
July 1, 2011

Dear CCAM Partners and Friends,

Thank you for praying for Noren. She is still at the clinic, but there are some positive improvements. In the beginning, she required constant oxygen. Now she can be without it for a few hours at a time. Before, she could not keep down any food. Now she can eat soup and throws up less often. Before, she suffered from a lot of pain, especially headaches. Now, the pain is much less. Before, she could not sleep. Now, she is able to get needed rest through frequent naps. She is beginning to cough up the puss from her lungs, which is relieving the pressure.

Yesterday, Noren had some x-rays and other tests done. The sputum test was sent off to Thailand, so we may hear back from that next week.

Based on the x-rays, the official diagnosis is severe upper-respiratory infection (including severe sinus infection, severe bronchitis, and severe lung infection and pneumonia). This is in addition to asthma. However, current oxygen level is 92%, which is better than before. She is on a powerful antibiotic for the infection, and it seems to be working. However, blood pressure is still unstable.

Noren's recovery is complicated by her previous medical history, which has produced a lot of lung scarring, not to mention the overall effects of the physical abuse she suffered at the hands of the Pol Pot regime. The doctor estimates that she now has 80% chance of recovery, but that the recovery will most likely be slow and she may require expensive meds on into the future.

Please continue to pray for her complete recovery and for funds to pay for her medical expenses. Let's join together to pray with confidence, because our Lord Jesus Christ is the Great Physician who can do all things.

By faith,
Gioia
