Dear CCAM Partners and Friends,
Thank you for your prayers. Praise the Lord that Noren keeps improving after her stroke. However, the rest of us have been dealing with some other health issues. Soon after I returned to Cambodia following my U.S. trip, CCAM suffered through an epidemic of Asian flu that lasted many weeks. Noren had been given a flu shot, so she did not get it! Then our elementary school teacher was hospitalized for a strange illness. Thankfully all of these illnesses have since been healed. However, some of our kids were recently diagnosed with an intestinal parasite, so tomorrow all of them begin taking medication for one month. And ever since I traveled to the States and back, I have been struggling to regulate my blood pressure. Please pray that the Lord will bring healing for these remaining medical conditions and provide protection against future illness.
Fortunately, God has sent a volunteer English teacher to round out our school schedule while the regular teachers are regaining their strength. Her name is Kelsey Wilson, who came to Cambodia with AIM.
Another concern for which we ask prayer is the imminent threat of flooding here in Phnom Penh. Recently, flooding has been ravaging much of Southeast Asia. In Cambodia, 17 provinces have already been devastated by floods. About 172 people have died. Many survivors have lost everything and therefore are homeless. Please pray for the victims of this tragedy and also for protection from further flooding damage, especially here in Phnom Penh.
Persevering in Prayer (Romans 12:12),
Gioia (for Noren and the CCAM Family)
