PETITIONS AND PRAISES
November 14, 2011

Dear CCAM Partners and Friends,

Thank you for your prayers for our health. We are encouraged to report that the 6-week treatment for parasites has finally been completed and everyone seems to be feeling much better. Gioia's blood pressure is now under control. Noren's overall health continues to improve. Praise the Lord!

Noren had a minor setback a few weeks ago with a recurrence of the chronic sinus infection that was the source of her previous medical emergencies. However, this time the doctors ordered more sophisticated tests of her sputum sample and discovered the actual name of the infection, as well as the correct medication to eliminate it. She is now in the middle of that treatment and reports encouraging results. Please continue to pray protection for all of us against illness in the future.

Thanks also for praying for our protection from flooding. Although floods have ravaged many places all around us, this time Phnom Penh was spared. We praise God for that, but also request prayer for the many people all over Cambodia and Southeast Asia who have suffered loss of family, homes, and livelihoods due to floods. Of course, there could still be threats to Phnom Penh from flooding until the end of November, so please keep us in your prayers a while longer.

Over the past few years, CCAM has experienced a gradual decline in financial giving, especially in regular monthly donations. This is partly due to the global financial crisis, as well as because many of our supporters were elderly and have one-by-one gone on to enjoy their heavenly rewards. Please pray that God will call more of the friends of CCAM to become regular financial partners to help shoulder the responsibilities that others have had to relinquish. Pray also that God might prompt some of our current financial partners to consider increasing their donations. In these difficult times, such boldness is only possible by trusting in God's faithfulness to provide (Philippians 4:19; 2 Corinthians 9:6-15).

Now we are preparing for our annual Khmer traditional-style Thanksgiving Celebration. Two original dances recently created will be performed with brand-new costumes as part of the Lord's Supper on Thanksgiving Day: "The Bread of Life," choreographed by Reaksmey Long Ty and danced by five girls, and "The Cup of Promise," choreographed by Sophun Ty and danced by five boys. These new works are masterpieces demonstrating how Khmer traditional dance styles can be infused with new spiritual meaning through innovative choreography. Our focus on thanksgiving especially reminds us of how thankful we are for all of you.

May the Lord richly bless each one of you,
Gioia (for the CCAM Family)
