ACCORDING TO THE GRACE GIVEN TO US
April 15, 2013

“And since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us,
let each exercise them accordingly…” Romans 12:6-8

Dear CCAM Partners and Friends,

Recently, we have been appealing to those with the gift of giving to seek God about how they may partner with Him and CCAM to help alleviate our current financial crisis. At the present time, we still need more financial donations each month just to cover our basic operating expenses, not to mention the funding of important projects. Please pray for God’s financial provision to flow through His people! And if God is leading you to help, you may send funds via PayPal on our website or mail a check made out to CCAM to CCAM, P.O. Box 1044, Brevard, NC 28712 U.S.A.

Also, we have been appealing to those with the gift of intercession to join our intercessory prayer team to help alleviate the spiritual oppression coming from the enemy and to petition God for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit, including open doors for ministry and provision for our many needs. Now15 intercessors have signed up for that team and are currently on duty praying for CCAM! If anyone else senses God’s call to join, please email Gioia. And the rest of our partners and friends should just keep praying as usual!

Gift of Teaching: Now we want to appeal to those having other spiritual and natural gifts, especially the gift of teaching.

Volunteer Jessica Cook will arrive at CCAMS on April 23. She will stay one month, teaching music theory, voice, keyboard, and songwriting/composition. She will also help Gioia coach students to create their own songs and print them using music notation computer software to bind into a songbook.

We need a volunteer teacher with similar music gifts, who could come to continue helping with this project after Jessica departs.

CCAMS intern, Kelsey Wilson, is nearing completion of her 2-year commitment. She’ll be returning to the U.S. in July to visit family and friends, network for CCAMS, and regroup for the purpose of coming back to work at CCAMS in late October or early November.

We need a volunteer to teach preschool during the time Kelsey is gone.

The focus of all five art forms at CCAMS has always been traditional Khmer styles. However, for the past 20 years, Gioia has also been teaching alternate forms of dance at CCAMS, especially ballet and modern dance, using those styles to choreograph dances for worship and for proclamation of the biblical message. However, now that Gioia is pushing 70 years old, she knows that she cannot continue indefinitely!

We need a volunteer to teach ballet and choreograph dances for the glory of God.

One of the new CCAMS dances now being created in Khmer traditional style is the “Proclamation Drum Dance,” lyrics by Gioia and Noren, and choreography by Sophun. We have invited the local Khmer drum teacher to come help Sophun design the drum rhythms, but for four long months he has been hindered in coming. Attached are the lyrics to give you an idea of the powerful evangelistic message! No wonder our enemy wants to stop this dance from ever being performed.

We need the local Khmer drum teacher to come help Sophun. Please pray!

Our video filming project is underway. We completed the first session on April 6. The venue where we filmed warned us about the daily power outages in their district. However, as everyone prayed, God miraculously provided uninterrupted power for the whole day! Also, Buntheep, who was one of the main dancers, came down with a strange illness the day before. But in answer to our prayers, she was miraculously healed that same day and danced beautifully at the filming! Praise the Lord! We plan to film five programs in all, featuring CCAMS dances plus preaching and testimony. Follow-up filming sessions are April 27, May 18, June 8 and 29. Please pray!

We need volunteers with technical expertise in video filming, editing, and production as consultants and trainers.

Gift of Service: Our appeal also goes out to those with the gift of service.

Gioia has choreographed a new worship dance in modern ballet style to the song “Artist of My Soul,” lyrics by Rick Vale, and sung by Sandi Patty. We are planning to record a piano accompaniment in order to sing the Khmer translation of the lyrics.

We need a seamstress to sew ballet-style costumes for this dance, as well as for “The Dew of Life” dance that is still being performed with borrowed costumes!

Two other types of service needs could be provided by medical and dental professionals.

We need medical volunteers to do physical check-ups, eye exams, and even provide glasses and administer needed immunizations. They could also bring needed supplies to stock our medical clinic.

We also need dental volunteers to do check-ups, cleanings, fillings, etc. They could also bring needed dental supplies.

Please pray that God will provide volunteers to fulfill all of these needs. If any of you sense that God is calling you to volunteer, just email Gioia to discuss possibilities!

Serving according to God’s grace,
Gioia and Noren for the CCAMS Family
