Dear CCAM Partners and Friends,
Thanks to Joe for emailing the special prayer request about the medical outpatient procedure I had done today. And thanks to everyone for praying. All went well. I am now back at Ronald McDonald House--just a little bit sore. In a couple of days I should be back to normal. The follow-up doctor's appointment to find out the results of the biopsy and the accompanying blood work is at the end of next week.
Actually there are two separate medical issues that Joe combined together. This miscommunication probably happened because our phone reception kept dropping out while we were discussing it together.
One issue is the difficulty I've had in the past getting my blood pressure medication in Cambodia. The good news is that the doctor who is providing my medical check-up here in Jacksonville has given me a supply of that medicine to take back with me and has promised to help me get more when that runs out. Praise God for this answer to prayer!
The other issue is that routine blood tests for the past few years have revealed that my liver enzymes are continually elevated. Also, recently I have begun to experience some physical symptoms as well. So far I have not taken any medicine for it. The liver biopsy was necessary to help figure out exactly what the ailment is. Please continue to pray for healing, including a clear diagnosis and effective treatment as needed.
Also, praise God for providing for my medical needs free of charge through the doctors and administrators of Baptist Health Jacksonville (since I do not have any medical insurance)--all of this in addition to the astronomical financial aid already provided (and still ongoing) for Buntheep's care. Buntheep and I are eternally grateful to God and to them.
In His Hands,
Gioia and Buntheep
P.S. We are scheduled to consult with the Gamma Knife doctors this Wednesday about Buntheep's continuing treatment. Please ask God to give supernatural wisdom and skill to the doctors and to heal Buntheep according to His perfect will.
